HS to College Mixer
Friday, October 13th from 10am to 3pm in the Student Union
he High School to College Mixer will be on Friday, Oct 13th form 10am to 3:30pm as part of our Hispanic/Latinx/e Heritage month. This event is intended to bridge experiences and provide college 101 experiences through a cultural lens for High Schools. This event includes student performances, a college 101 teaching demo, a student panel, and intentional interactions with UIS Students. The High School to College Mixer is the UIS Diversity Center's way of joining the conversation of transitioning to college life by providing access to higher education to first-generation students and students from historically underrepresented and marginalized groups. This is a full team effort within the Diversity Center, because we intentionally involve Women’s Center, Gender and Sexuality Student Services, Hispanic/Latinx/e Initiative, First-Gen Initiative, and People of Color Initiatives, all of which are housed within our Diversity Center (Instagram post from last spring).
La Familia Cook Out
